Beschrijving
The blend for this batch was selected from freshly emptied 10-year American oak rye whiskey barrels used to age Medianoche for 18 months. These rye whiskey barrels are some of the most complex and interesting casks we have gotten our hands on, which were used to age whiskey made from 100% unmalted rye for over 10 years, imparting notes of butterscotch, vanilla, black cherries, and allspice. After 18 months of aging in the rye whiskey barrels, we conditioned this batch of Medianoche on copious amounts of Madagascar and Ugandan vanilla beans for over 3 months, contributing notes of sweet tobacco, milk chocolate, and brownie batter.
