When my dad was in high school, he and his classmates decided they wanted to have nicknames. They each chose a moniker they liked – from Baldy to Butch – my dad chose Butch. Those names stuck and I grew up hearing everyone call my dad “Butch.” I never got to sit down and have a beer with him – he died when I was in high school. This beer is dedicated to him. I hope he would have liked it. As a pale ale, Butch is somewhat on the hoppy side at 40 IBUS.
